If you would like to register for the MemoryXL Open in Würzburg on 22th/23rd of May, 2015, please click here.

 

Important information

  • Registration deadline: 21st of April 2015 (only limited spots available!)
  • The participation fee is 30€ for adults and 15€ for juniors (50% off for MemoryXL-members).
  • The Würzburg Open will be a completely digital event, so memorization and recall are both done on the computer with memocamp. On www.memocamp.com you can practice the first levels for free. The event “Speed Cards” will be done non-digital. You will get your competition computer at the venue.
  • The Würzburg Open will be officially ranked by the WMSC.
  • We will have a special Junior Open, if at least 3 juniors (Year of birth 1997 or younger) are competing.

 

The Disciplines

 

Day 1: Friday, 22th of May, 2015
  • Spoken Numbers (100 and 400, english)
  • 15 minutes Numbers
  • 10 minutes Cards

 

Day 2: Saturday, 23rd of May, 2015 

On Day 2 you will compete together with the adult competitors of the South German Memory Championship.

  • 5 minutes Numbers (2 trials)
  • 5 minutes Binary
  • Historic Dates
  • 5 minutes Words
  • 15 minutes Abstract Images
  • 5 minutes Names
  • Speed Cards (2 trials, non-digital)

How to find us

The venue of the Würzburg Open is the Computer Science Building (Informatikgebäude), University of Würzburg, located in the east of the Campus Hubland Süd.

 

By plane:

Frankfurt  (FRA) and Nürnberg (NUE) are the two airports within fairly close range. There are direct train connections to Würzburg main station. 
From Frankfurt airport the train takes about 90 minutes and departs every hour.
From Nürnberg, the train takes between 1 and 2 hours and departs almost every 30 minutes.

 

By train/bus:

At Würzburg main station, the bus terminal is right in front:

Bus station

Take the bus line 14 direction Gerbrunn, descend at bus stop „Mathematisches Institut“. Using a boardwalk will take you to the „Theodor-Boveri-Weg „. Turn left and you will reach the building of the Department of Computer Science (Informatikgebäude) after about 150m.

Other possibility (only Friday): Take the bus line 114 direction Fachhochschule, descend at bus stop „Hubland/Mensa“. Walk up the stairs to a square between dining hall (to your right) and library (to your left). Cross this square in the direction of the campus. Keep to the right and you will reach the building of the Department of Computer Science (Informatikgebäude) after about 300m (see maps).
